In the world, there are so many different things that have happened and will happen than what has happened many years ago. We have grown from things and also are starting to fall because of new leaders and decisions that are made out of hate not care for the people. For example, in America anybody can run for president the only requirements are: he or she must be a natural born citizen of the U.S., must be at least 35 years old and must have been living in the U.S for at least 14 years. The way the U.S had changed because of Trump, reflects on these requirements, I believe if there were more strict requirements people like Trump would not be allowed to run. 

 

In Station 11, we see an idea of what the world could look like in many years. In the book, the characters go through the Georgian Flu and they are trying to escape it by getting out of the city. This can connect to the world now because there are many people trying to flee countries because of war. These people are called refugees, a person who is forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster. For example, in 2017 Canada took in more than 286 000 permanent residents which 44 000 of them who were resettled, refugees. It is important that when our country takes in these people they feel a part of our country, 93% of immigrants have a strong sense of belonging to Canada, which I think is amazing that our country can make anyone feel like they belong here.

But in America it is a different story, instead of welcoming people into the country and giving them a home, Trump is trying to build a wall while making Mexico pay for it. In 2017, America took in 28 000 refugees which are far less than the results in 2016. Instead of making a country united, Trump is destroying what other presidents have done for the country while making a fool of himself. No other president has tweeted as immature as Trump does, he has multiple tweets that are insulting and offensive to so many people. If this is the direction that the third largest country in the world is taking, then it will start to affect multiple other countries and maybe our world will turn into something like Station 11.
